One man was arrested and another suspect is still on the run following the robbery of a jewelry store on Wednesday March 26th 2014. The early evening robbery happened at the Brea Mall.
According to the Brea Police Department, 2 men entered the jewelry store just before 8:00pm carrying a hammer. They went up to display cases that held Rolex watches and started smashing the cases with the hammer.
The Brea Police Department is located next door. After the police officers got there, they saw 2 men sprinting past the Civic Center. The police started chasing them, and managed to catch one of the suspects. The other suspect managed to get away, and the police are still searching for him.
The watches were recovered; the hammer that was used was recovered as well.
